Bahía Solano: Personero requests new population census

by admin

Calos Mario Cardona, representative of Bahía Solano, sent a note to the Presidency of the Republic and the National Administrative Department of Statistics, Dane, requesting a new population census be carried out in said municipality.

The representative of the Public Ministry states that the census of the population of Bahía Solano carried out in 2018, which the Dane reports on 9,427 inhabitants, does not correspond to reality, since the municipality currently has more than 15,000 inhabitants.

And he adds that this causes the municipality to receive fewer transfer resources, to have a very low budget and only nine councilors, when these could be eleven.

“Bahía Solano in the last ten years has become a recipient of families who are victims of the armed conflict, especially indigenous people, but the resources that the nation provides for this population continue to reach their municipalities of origin and not to Bahía Solano, where they are actually settled.” ”.

The request from the municipal official is already in the office of Piedad Urdinola Contreras, director of the National Administrative Department of Statistics, to which it was sent by Elsa Marina Torralba Noval, manager of the Presidential Affairs Management Group – Presidential Office Headquarters.
