On the morning of June 23, Baoji’s “6.26” International Anti-Drug Day publicity series kicked off at the Municipal Culture and Art Center. The reporter learned at the event site that the actual number of drug addicts in the city has dropped significantly compared with previous years, and the current anti-drug situation in our city continues to improve.
In recent years, our city has made every effort to promote the anti-drug work. Last year, our city was named one of the first batch of “Drug Control Demonstration Cities” by the National Narcotics Control Commission, and it is the only named city in Shaanxi Province. At present, the anti-drug situation in our city continues to improve. The actual number of drug addicts in the city has dropped significantly compared with that before the establishment of the anti-drug demonstration city; since last year, the number of new drug addicts has dropped by 75% year-on-year; the number of people who have not relapsed after three years of abstinence is lower than that in the anti-drug demonstration city. It has been greatly improved before its establishment, and the spread of drug addicts has been curbed.
The theme of this event is “Healthy Life, Green and Non-toxic”, and 4 anti-drug publicity points have been set up in the urban area. During the event, the police took to the streets to distribute propaganda materials to the masses and popularize relevant knowledge. They also deepened the masses’ awareness of the dangers of drugs by publishing a “Letter to the People of the City” in the media and sending SMS messages on anti-drug propaganda.
Zhao Jiahong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, and He Dong, Deputy Mayor and Director of the Municipal Public Security Bureau, attended the event.
