Battipaglia, Alba is looking for workers a few months after the vote – breaking latest news

by admin

BATTIPAGLIA – Twenty-one hires for Alba ecology. Four months after the elections, the municipal subsidiary, unable to cope with the waste collection and maintenance services of the municipal assets, decided to remedy the shortage of staff by resorting to temporary agencies. And it does so with an open procedure in search of work units that can cover services in trouble for 12 months. In particular, we are looking for a driver for the urban hygiene service, 13 operators for the collection, those of level “J” of the Federambiente contract, a maintenance technician, a plumber, a window operator, three green operators (who would all be hired with the contract of the local functions level “b1”) and another electrician always with a contract of the local functions but of level B3. The estimated expenditure for recruitment is just over 500 thousand euros per year. To this cost we must add the fee for the agency that will take care of finding and administering the workers, thus reaching the figure of about 628 thousand euros.

But the municipal subsidiary, despite the mini-capitalization and the approval by the City Council of the new statute that broadens its range of action, still finds itself operating under an extension regime. An extension that has now lasted for over three years. This time the junta, led by the mayor Cecilia Francese, approved the extension of the services until 31 August, bringing the workers almost to the threshold of the electoral consultation without a certainty. In the executive resolution it is stated that the further extension is necessary pending the signing of the new contracts “following the recapitalization”. And there is still no glimpse of the “click day” or the material disbursement of the new capital of half a million euros in the coffers of Alba. And it will not arrive until the administrative procedure that follows the approval by the City Council of the new statute of the investee is completed. In short, it still appears “plastered” and certainly does not give workers peace of mind. And It prevents the company from guaranteeing efficient and effective services.

The situation, which is already delicate in itself, was joined by the disputed meeting of the past few days in which people from outside both the top management of Alba and the municipalities took part, helping to generate a climate of confusion and discontent. A meeting during which there was also a lively clash between the administrator of Alba, Palmerino Belardo, and the manager of the technical office, Carmine Salerno. The municipal employee would have clearly expressed a negative opinion on the company as it did not appear to be able to cope with the services requested. In the last three years, the staff has reduced considerably. The retirements, which the unions had anticipated, thus calculating the possibility of consolidating the accounts, on the other hand made it difficult to carry out both waste collection and maintenance efficiently. But without capital, it is not possible to renew the fleet, another problem of the company, nor to recruit.
