Beating against policemen in Turin: for one of the agents who intervened, fractures to the cheekbones, teeth and nose

by admin

A routine police check last night turned into a beating of officers. A man of Nigerian origin, stopped in the Lingotto area, attacked two policemen from the steering wheels with kicks and punches.

Stuck in Corso Cosenza, at first it seemed collaborative. He gave the agents their name, surname and age. But the details were unknown. When the patrol invited him to get into the car to be accompanied to the police station for further information, the man rebelled. He pushed the agents and fled running towards Corso Agnelli, where he hid under a car.

Reached shortly after by the policemen, he hit them with kicks and punches. An agent, still hospitalized at the CTO hospital, caused serious injuries to the face: fractured cheekbones and broke his teeth and nose. The other policeman was also injured.

The man, finished in handcuffs, was already the recipient of expulsion orders from the national territory.

“This is yet another serious episode that testifies to the absolute lack of respect for the State and the police that represent it – declares Pietro Di Lorenzo, secretary of the Siap union – The climate is heavy, the certainty of the penalty is now a chimera, while the wounded in uniform are increasing in a climate of generalized impunity. There is a lot to do in order not to humiliate the work of the police forces ».

Eugenio Bravo, secretary general of the Siulp, asks that «the possibility of using the taser be established. To say that it is not possible to work in this way is an understatement. It is time for Parliament to implement severe measures against anyone who attacks a member of the police. The appreciation and comforting words of the political class are certainly important, but they are useless if they do not follow concrete measures ».
