Two standard-bearers with Bergamo in their hearts. Sofia Goggia will be the blue standard-bearer in the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games on February 4th, while her friend Michela Moioli will have the same honor in the closing, the program for February 20th.
Coni president Giovanni Malagò announced his decision in Rome, rewarding the two athletes who won two of the three golds won by Italy at the previous PyeongChang Games (the third was signed by Arianna Fontana, standard-bearer in the opening in Korea de Sud): the Goggia triumphed in downhill, while the Moioli in the snowboard cross.
In both disciplines, no blue had ever managed to do the same in history. Goggia and Moioli were both chosen as ambassadors of Milan Cortina 2026 and their presentation side by side in Lausanne was one of the winning cards of the Italian candidacy: once again, they will experience a magical moment together.
