Beijing nucleic acid tester exposed the inside story: driver who earns 30,000 in 20 days is also working | part-time tester | real estate broker | Didi car driver

[NTD, Beijing time, June 07, 2022]China’s normalized nucleic acid testing has made testers a sought-after industry, and at the same time spawned chaos in the industry. A part-time inspector in Beijing revealed that he earned more than 30,000 yuan after working for 20 days, and his colleagues in the lab included Didi drivers and real estate agents.

On June 7, a long online article “Being a nucleic acid tester, I am not afraid of being tired, but more afraid of ‘chaos'”, described the experience of a professional tester working part-time as a nucleic acid tester in Beijing.

The article stated that Zhao Jian (pseudonym) graduated from a key medical university with a major in inspection and worked in a tertiary hospital for nearly 3 years. He came to Beijing to visit relatives on May 1st, when the epidemic broke out in Beijing, so he accidentally worked as a part-time nucleic acid tester.

Zhao Jian said that when Beijing announced that it would stop dine-in, he knew the epidemic was serious. If you go back directly, the cost of isolation and time are unknown, so you choose to stay in Beijing temporarily.

A friend in Beijing told him that there is an urgent shortage of nucleic acid testers in Beijing. Basically, the price is 120 yuan/hour for dual certificates (testers and clinical gene amplification personnel), 100 yuan/hour for uncertified experts, and one shift per day. The working hours are 12 hours and can earn 1440 yuan.

So, he and the hospital applied for leave without pay and worked part-time in nucleic acid testing in Beijing.

The intermediaries are making recruiting demands every day. In fact, at the beginning, the inspectors were not required to graduate from inspection majors or have a college degree or above. It was a new requirement after the accident in Pu Shi’s laboratory. Part-time nucleic acid samplers generally require a nurse certificate, while part-time nucleic acid information entry personnel have no special requirements, as long as they are healthy.

Zhao Jian said that in fact, testing is a job with a high threshold. Inspectors need to understand the principles and steps of the experiment, and it is not something that can be done by just one person.

He has to process at least 15,000 to 20,000 tubes of samples per shift, that is, samples of 150,000 to 200,000 people, and works an average of 13 or 4 hours a day.

He said that the work intensity is still bearable, and the most uncomfortable thing is that the industry has become very chaotic now.

On the first day as a part-time job, Zhao Jian entered the second area of the laboratory and asked his colleagues, “What major do you study?”

As a result, my colleague has never learned to test, and has been running Didi before. In addition to drivers, there are also real estate agents who do part-time testing.

He also revealed that those who have the right to recruit will also recruit acquaintances and relatives. And these inexperienced people make mistakes over time, leading to false positives.

Zhao Jian worked in Beijing for 20 days and earned 30,000 yuan, which is equivalent to three months’ salary in the hospital. He said that after Beijing recently investigated these nucleic acid testing institutions, those with dual-certificate qualifications will be paid more.

Due to the CCP’s insistence on “clearing” and “normalizing nucleic acid testing” and requiring major cities to establish “15-minute nucleic acid sampling circles”, the lucrative industry of nucleic acid testing has been born, and testers have become a sought-after industry.

According to online news, the current maximum salary of nucleic acid testers has reached 1000~2000 yuan / day, and the salary of nucleic acid samplers with a nurse certificate can also reach 300 ~ 600 yuan / day, but they still face the dilemma of “one person is difficult to find”.

Now, under the epidemic, it is difficult to find jobs, coupled with the high salary of this profession, many undocumented personnel are also mixed into the ranks of testers.

On May 22, the Beijing Changping Public Security Bureau issued a notice saying that it recently received an alarm from a nucleic acid testing agency and seized two nucleic acid samplers with fake nurse practice certificates.
