BELLUNO. Rock discharge hits a climber during a rock course. There were numerous interventions by the Alpine Rescue yesterday in the Belluno mountains. Around noon the helicopter flew on the Via Dallago – Menardi on the Gusela di Giau. During a rock course a young mountaineer, GL, 22 years old from Rome, was hit by a volley of stones falling from above while he was at the end of the 4th pitch. Identified on the wall, the helicopter rescue technician was lowered and recovered with a 40-meter winch. Moved to a more comfortable place, the boy was stabilized for a probable trauma to the head and shoulder, boarded and transported to the hospital in Belluno.

In the afternoon at 1 pm a team of the Alpine Rescue of the Guardia di Finanza of Auronzo intervened at the Lavaredo Refuge, for a 59-year-old woman from Botticino (Bs) who had suffered a trauma to her wrist. At about 3 pm, however, the Alpine Rescue of the Cadore Center was sent to the Hermitage of the Romiti, for a woman taken ill. MGDB, 87 years old from Domegge, was loaded on the off-road vehicle and transported to the hospital in Pieve.

Shortly before, the air ambulance had flown to the Crystal. While a roped party was descending along the normal route, a hundred meters below the summit, a boulder broke away causing one of the two boys to fall and he stopped on a ledge. Retrieved, the young man was taken to San Martino with a suspected polytrauma.

At about 3.10 pm the alarm went off for a German hiker who slipped along the path of the Sorapiss Lake. The woman was taken in charge by the doctors and the helicopter rescue technician who landed in a hovering nearby and accompanied to the hospital in Cortina. At 4.15 pm the helicopter ambulance was sent to the Pale di San Martino, where a man who was descending along a shortcut from the Brunner bivouac together with his wife, son and two other people, had slipped for a few tens of meters. After hovering, Cnsas medical and technical staff stabilized the injured person for a probable polytrauma and transported him to the Belluno hospital.

Finally, around 4.30 pm, the Treviso emergency helicopter flew to Forcella Marmarole. A hiker, a 59-year-old LT from Vigonza (Pd), was climbing with a friend to the Fanton Bivouac, where she would have slept, when, 200 meters below, she tumbled down dragging a stone that hit her in the leg. From the coordinates, the helicopter identified the place of the accident and landed the helicopter rescue technician higher up, who reached the woman on foot. In two rotations both friends were recovered: the injured person was taken to the Belluno hospital, her partner to the Baion Refuge.
