BELLUNO. Here come “our”: summer reinforcements for the police of the province. There will be about fifteen operators, according to what was announced even by the leader of the Lega Matteo Salvini who resumes the national plan fired by the ministry.
Tourism promises to be abundant and public safety will therefore be reinforced from July to September, with more operators available to administrations.
A dozen those expected, for example, by the carabinieri, although from September we hope in the real assignments of new personnel on a permanent basis. Still awaiting any communications in the Finance headquarters, in via Mezzaterra.
Thus the leader of the League: «Reinforcements arriving in the province of Belluno, with more than 15 women and men in uniform who will enrich the staff of the police from mid-July to mid-September. The summer surveillance strengthening plan is extended nationwide and does not only concern the Belluno area: there will be “reinforcements” in all the most popular tourist locations.
However, there is great movement among the police forces. At the Arma dei Carabinieri in Viale Europa they await the arrival of the pupil marshals who will arrive for the internship (then new assignments from September): employed for three or four months, then in summer.
“We should count on about ten people” explains the provincial commander, Colonel Francesco Rastelli “A good confidence boost awaiting September”.
New assignments, however, at the end of July, for the police headquarters: therefore permanent “grafts” that do not run out over the summer. There are four of them and they are added to the 25/26 of 2020. “We had about 25 new operators last year, between the police station and the Cortina police station” explains the police commissioner Lilia Fredella “The bulk of it clearly was in view of the World Cup Cortina ski. Four more permanent operators are now planned for the end of July ».
The state police are also waiting for other assignments based on a general plan drawn up for all the Italian police stations: the province of Belluno, due to its low crime rate, is profiled in the medium-low standard, but this does not mean that it will not receive assignments. On the contrary: new courses are awaited. “Since September 2019, since I have held this position, there has been a substantial increase in personnel”, concludes Fredella, in the face of five or six retirements, plus one expected. In fact, it has gone from being under 160 units to a “gross” of 190 operators including policemen, technicians and civilians. The problem of personnel, on the other hand, “attacks” the traffic police, who are always suffering.
