On the evening of the New Year’s Eve, the administration points must close at 10.30 pm. Massaro: we protect health and public order
BELLUNO. Reduced hours, on New Year’s Eve, at the brulé houses in Piazza dei Martiri. It will not be possible to toast the new year in the gardens in front of Porta Dante. Yesterday the mayor of Belluno, Jacopo Massaro, in fact signed and sent to the organizers and managers of the brulè houses and the Christmas markets in Piazza dei Martiri the letter communicating the new opening hours.
The new schedules have already entered into force since yesterday, and will remain the same until the last day of activity of the various houses. Some will close on Sunday, others on 6, and still others on 9 January.
The new calendar foresees the opening from Monday to Thursday from 10.30 to 21.30; on Fridays, before holidays and holidays from 10.30 to 23; tomorrow, for New Year’s Eve, the houses will be open from 10.30 to 22.30. A decisive cut, given that the houses could have closed at 2 am on 1 January based on the initial calendar.
“It is a decision”, explains Mayor Massaro, “that we had to take following the entry into force of the Festivity Decree a few days before Christmas, also given the problems of gatherings that were reported especially on the evening of the eve, and above all considering the recent problems of public order that occurred in the historic center. Problems that require all the necessary caution pending the convening of a Public Order and Safety Committee dedicated to this phenomenon “.
“We want to avoid”, adds the mayor, “that there may be further opportunities for vandals and thugs to meet and organize new acts of violence in the city.”
A strengthening of the territorial control services by the forces is also planned for tomorrow evening of the order.
