Belluno, photovoltaic, led and heat pump: facelift in Castion elementary school

by admin

A project is ready that will complete the work on the seismic. Giannone: the school will be practically new

BELLUNO. The Valeriano di Castion elementary school will have (almost) zero consumption. The Municipality is working on a project that will complete the building’s anti-seismic compliance intervention, and which will improve the school’s energy performance. One million and one hundred thousand euros will be needed, but about 65% of the expenditure (or 700 thousand euros) will be financed by the thermal account.

“The Valeriano school is the subject of an important seismic adjustment intervention worth about one million euros”, remembers the councilor for public works, Biagio Giannone. The Municipality had participated in a tender and was awarded the necessary contribution for the works.

«The project also includes the refurbishment of the plants, for which we had already allocated 300 thousand euros, funds from our municipal budget. But we asked ourselves: why not do something more? ». Given the possibility of drawing on the contributions of the GSE, the complete refurbishment of the elementary school also from an energy point of view is absolutely feasible.

“With this intervention, the school will become even safer,” adds councilor Giannone. “We will spend less on lighting and heating and it will improve the quality of the environments for students and teachers. La Valeriano will be a nearly zero-consumption school. A pilot project that we will then be able to export to other complexes of the city, resources permitting ».

THE WORK PLAN

The project involves the reconstruction of the roof, including the insulation (250 thousand euros), the insulation of the internal cladding walls (approximately 90 thousand), the insulation of the basement, the renewal of the external doors and windows (60 thousand euros) and of the windows in the attic (15 thousand), the installation of a new radiated ceiling heating system (125 thousand euros), the installation of an attic volume heating system, the construction of false ceilings on the first and second floors, the replacement of the generator of heat and the construction of a new heat pump system (50 thousand euros), the installation of a system for controlled mechanical ventilation (70 thousand euros), the renovation of the bathrooms, the water supply plumbing system hot and cold for the bathrooms, the installation of a LED lighting system, the complete overhaul of the electrical system, including the cora system, new internal doors and windows and an integrated photovoltaic system. 15 kW roof.

TIMES

The councilor Giannone’s goal is to start the intervention shortly, to complete it by the end of next summer. When the students were moved for the seismic adjustment work, they were expected to return to class at Valeriano in September 2022. And Giannone wants to respect that commitment.

“The design will be done by our offices,” he specifies. «We have started an important intervention on the seismic, and we do not want to leave it halfway given the possibility of accessing considerable contributions. In the end, we will have invested two million euros for Valeriano, but the safety of the schools is our priority. And the elementary of Castion at the end of the work will be practically new ».
