Belluno, skating in Piazza Duomo: rink open until 6 March

A solution to please the schools and young people of Belluno

THE CASE. With skates on until March 6th. A way to make children do physical activity in peace and above all to create that socialization that has been lacking in times of Covid. Given the excellent results obtained in recent weeks and the still very high interest among families, schools and children, the Piazza Duomo track will remain active for the entire month of February and until Sunday 6 March, thus covering all the Carnival holidays. The times will remain unchanged.

“It is a solution that we wanted to pursue both to give schools the opportunity to make children carry out physical activity safely”, comments the councilor for events Yuki d’Emilia, “and to create opportunities for meeting between young people at open air in this difficult moment ».

“We are satisfied with this extension”, adds Simone Battiston, manager of the facility, “because the numbers, especially for the holidays and weekends, are satisfactory, and we continue to receive booking requests from schools: despite the almost two months of activities we have not been able to satisfy all of them, but now with this additional month we will be able to give space to those who have been excluded ».

There is also great satisfaction from the world of school, as underlined by the group of teachers of motor and sports sciences who immediately asked the Municipality to evaluate a longer opening of the track: “We thank the administration for understanding the social value and sportsman of this proposal, guaranteeing students the opportunity to carry out physical education outdoors, and we thank the managers for their willingness to extend their work. It is important to be able to count on this outdoor structure: the problem of the school is not only the Dad, but also the infinite constraints in the management of the gyms. In addition, we will also be able to carry out the “Sports Days” which otherwise would have been difficult to organize between problems with travel, disinfection of premises and equipment, organization of transport and more ».
