Interventions also to adapt the Sorarù treatment plant and to restore another tank in San Tomaso

SELVA DI CADORE. The safety measures of the imhoff tank in Solator di Selva di Cadore, the adaptation of the treatment plant in Sorarù di Rocca Pietore, the restoration of the imhoff in Sot Colarù di San Tomaso.

These are the three construction sites that Bim Gsp is completing or has already completed in the Alto Agordino. In fact, the completion of the safety works of the Imhoff tank in Solator, serving the town of the same name and the hamlet of Villa in the municipality of Selva di Cadore, is expected to be completed within a few days. The company, assisted by the company Fratelli Trentini Srl of Corteno Golgi (Brescia), with an investment of 300 thousand euros, has fully restored the functionality of the purification plant, compromised by the fury of the Vaia storm in autumn 2018.

The works concerned primarily the slope close to the building, which was deeply uneven and with landslides in progress.

«Here», says Gsp, «at a depth of 12 meters and for a front 21 meters wide, special consolidation micropiles were built, connected at the head by a concrete curb, to stabilize the ground; then, from downstream to upstream, the new sewer drainage pipe was laid, in cast iron and with anti-slip joints, to replace the existing one, completely uprooted by the calamity; subsequently, steps were taken to reinforce the structure of the tank and to replace portions of internal connecting pipes ».

Finally, the restoration and waterproofing of the entire building is underway, as well as the final external arrangements. The construction site at the Sorarù treatment plant in Rocca Pietore is also in the final phase: here Bim Gsp, with the Luchetta Francesco di Falcade company and an investment of 92 thousand euros, has restored functionality, adapted and secured the existing building , newly laid the sewage pipe leaving the tank, created a complete regulation of the water coming from the mountain side to protect the purifier from infiltration and flooding.

Finally, the construction site in San Tomaso Agordino has already been closed (66 thousand euros, works carried out by the company Selva Scavi Snc of Selva di Cadore) for the restoration of the functionality of the Imhoff at the service of the town of Sot Colarù, uprooted by the flood of the stream. Cordial in the days of the Vaia calamity. On the whole, the on-site tank, the portion of the sewer collector for conveying the wastewater and the drainage pipe for returning the purified water to the environment are new.

“These interventions”, explains Attilio Sommavilla, president of Bim Gsp, “were carried out with funds from the Commissioner delegated to the emergency: 2.1 million euros total funding received and 14, in total, the construction sites activated in 2020 in Agordino , largely concluded. Resources that also allow us to enhance the small mountain villages, increasingly subject to depopulation, and to support the economy and related industries. We are confident that the 15 million euro loan request presented for 2021 will also be accepted, because, almost three years afterthe calamity, there is still a lot to do ».
