175 people identified, 10 fines and 2 cars seized

(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, 18 SEPTEMBER – State police and municipal police maxi blitz to stop clandestine races and car evolutions at Fast & Furious in the Sant’Elia district in Cagliari. After the numerous reports received from the local operations center and from 113 on what often happened along some roads around the stadium during the night just passed, a maxi control operation was triggered. The blitz was coordinated by the Cagliari Police Headquarters: men and vehicles employed by the Flying Squad, the Sardinia Crime Prevention Department, the Flying Squad, the Traffic Police Section and the Local Police.

The operation started around midnight in via Amerigo Vespucci where numerous people had gathered, some even arrived from outside the city with their children, to witness the evolution of motorists. To make the show more enjoyable, many mobile kiosks for the sale of drinks and sandwiches have been set up in the area.

Police and traffic police blocked all roads and identified 175 people, checked 108 vehicles and fined ten motorists. Two cars seized. The checks will continue in the coming days. (HANDLE).
