TRIESTE. One dead and one missing: this is the tragic outcome of the accident that took place in the early afternoon of Monday 8 November in the Gulf of Trieste, where a boat with two people on board sank.
The lifeless body of an 80-year-old man was recovered in the early afternoon about two miles offshore from Sistiana. On board with him, in the gozzo in transfer from Caorle to Monfalcone, there was also his 50-year-old son, who is currently missing.
The search was triggered by the alarm raised by a relative at the Port Authority of Monfalcone: in the Gulf of Trieste the searches were immediately triggered which saw the Port Authority and the Fire Brigade of Trieste engaged in the field, with divers and a motorboat, together with the Venice Fire Brigade Nucleo Volo. A helicopter was also used.
