[Epoch Times, August 26, 2021](Epoch Times UK reporter station report) British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said that Britain is racing against time and day and night to evacuate overseas Chinese from Afghanistan. The final time is in hours instead of Calculated in days.

Voorice said that the British army will leave at the same time that the U.S. forces withdraw, that is, August 31.

He said that he talked to the US Secretary of Defense over the phone, and the withdrawal of the US military will make the entire evacuation action out of the framework. “I think that after the United States leaves, (we) have no possibility of staying. The time we have left is really Calculated in hours rather than weeks, we must make sure to use every minute to get people away.”

In the first week after the Taliban occupied Kabul, Britain evacuated 6,631 people, including its citizens, Afghans who had helped Britain and their families.

The undersecretary of the British Ministry of Defence for military affairs, James Heappey, said that there are still more than 4,000 people who hold British passports or who have helped the UK need to evacuate.

In addition, Britain also intends to help a wider range of people evacuate, including some politicians, civil leaders, humanitarian workers and their families in Afghanistan. If these people are counted, the UK may need to evacuate 12,000 people.

Sipe also said that the United Kingdom will take as many people away as possible, but it is impossible to take away everyone who wants to take away. In addition to the current departure from Kabul by plane, the United Kingdom will also pass through the country’s neighboring countries in Afghanistan. The refugee camp or the British Embassy handles asylum applications.

In addition, the UK needs time to evacuate more than 1,000 British soldiers, government officials and some equipment.

Refugee processing centers will be established in neighboring countries

Britain plans to set up centers in some neighboring countries of Afghanistan to process Afghan refugee applications.

Secretary of Defense Wallis stated that Britain plans to set up refugee application processing centers in countries such as Pakistan and Turkey.

The UK plans to accept 20,000 Afghan refugees and 5,000 in the first year. It will give priority to those groups that may be persecuted, such as women, girls and ethnic minorities.

The British government doubled its aid to Afghanistan and provided 286 million pounds for humanitarian assistance to these refugees.

The United Kingdom also allocated 5 million pounds to help solve the medical and housing problems of Afghan refugees. The local government can use the money to rent houses for refugees from large families.

Afghan refugees arriving in the UK will also be given the opportunity to be vaccinated against the Chinese Communist virus upon arrival. Refugees are tested for the virus in the isolation hotel where they are placed. If the virus test on the second day after arrival is negative, they can receive the first dose of vaccine.

These refugees will receive medical assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week. ◇
