TREVISO. The buffer point for travelers arrives at the Treviso Canova airport and in case of positivity, two “Covid hotels” are ready to welcome those coming from abroad without domicile. The Covid point, set up in parking A of the airport, will be active from Monday 26 July and equipped to perform a thousand tests a day.

Screening will be offered, in particular, to unvaccinated people arriving or returning from the United Kingdom, Malta, Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal, France, Cyprus, Luxembourg, Romania and Bulgaria. “The obligation for an act of extreme trust towards citizens has not been introduced, but we will propose the test to all those who leave the terminal,” says the director general of Ulss 2 Francesco Benazzi.

I COVID HOTEL

In case of positivity for tourists without a domicile, isolation will be triggered in one of the two “Covid hotels” set up in the province: the former Guicciardini hospital in Valdobbiadene and a wing of the Tomitano Boccassin retirement home in Motta di Livenza. “Thanks to this service we aim to identify and intervene in a timely manner in case of positivity, keeping under control the possible positives arriving from countries with a high diffusion of the delta variant” commented the general manager after an inspection of the airport site, carried out with the director of the prevention department Stefano De Rui, engineer Corrado Fischer managing director of Save Spa and Federico Scanferlini director of the airport.

THE SCREENING POINT

A team from the Treviso healthcare company for “traveler-screening” made up of three nurses and two administrators for passenger registration and bureaucratic procedures has been on the field since Monday. “We plan to set up tensile structures, if they are not ready by the beginning of the week, we will temporarily position our camper to carry out the screening,” explains CEO Benazzi.

Meanwhile, the health company has taken steps to strengthen the tracking activity. “We have 20 contact tracers operating who are able to trace 100 close positive contacts a day, from next week we will bring the number of tracers to 30” announces the number one in Treviso health care, satisfied with the standard achieved: the effectiveness of the tracing is 98 % of close contacts of positives reached daily.
