UDINE. Parade of real jewels on four wheels on the afternoon of Saturday 11 June in Udine. In fact, twenty-seven beautiful cars passed through the streets of the Friulian capital belonging to the members of the “Friulian Vintage Vehicles Club”, a partnership that brings together lovers of the art of restoring and using old-fashioned cars, but whose charm does not never sets.
Bugatti, Ferrari, Maserati, Porsche. One model more beautiful than the other. All headed to the square of the Castle where, traditionally, there is the annual meeting which, however, last year and also in 2020 was “blown” due to the pandemic due to the coronavirus. «They are cars for true enthusiasts – explained the president of the association, Italo Zompicchiatti while the cars stopped in viale Palmanova, in the piazzale del Messaggero Veneto – and also for experts able to keep them alive. Of course, it is a decidedly expensive passion if you consider that the value of the most precious of these cars is around two million euros.
There are machines from the early twentieth century and up to the fifties and sixties. And some easily manage to exceed 200 kilometers per hour. Today’s rally – Zompicchiatti specified while the roar of the engines almost completely covered his voice – is only for selected and very special cars. Among these, there are also models that have won several competitions of elegance ».
“This is the case with this Bugatti Tipo 23,” explains Ralph Battiston from Pordenone, pointing to his father’s car. And next to him there is also a light blue Bugatti Type 35 B with 8 cylinders and 160 horsepower, a real racing car capable of reaching and exceeding 200. Immediately afterwards all the vintage vehicles left for the Castle while guaranteeing the safety of moving there were the motorcyclists of the Moto club Pit stop in Roveredo in Piano.
