In this regard, the Ministry of Infrastructure has published the guidelines for transport, in force from September 1st to December 31st of this year. In the regions in the white and yellow zone, up to 80% of the buses are allowed to be filled, the air exchange must be allowed through the opening of the windows, you must get on wearing a mask and the up and down flows must be separated. But how do you calculate the 80 percent capacity on a bus?
We put the question to Giacomo Colladon, president of Brand Mobility: «The calculation must be made on the seats available in addition to those standing. In a coach operating on an extra-urban line, the data may vary according to the model of the vehicle and therefore the total capacity may vary ». The company, which used these first days to implement the organizational process, has deployed about thirty additional buses, but has to cope with a drop in season tickets, stopping at about 13 thousand cards which, in conjunction with the reduced hours in almost all school complexes do not allow easy organization of the means on the lines.
“I have already received the driver’s note,” continues Colladon, “as a company we immediately intervened. Already today, two vehicles will be used on that line in order to meet the capacity requirements mentioned by the Ministry ».
To this end, the company is keen to point out that checks on all vehicles in circulation will begin today. Therefore, also on the extra-urban line number 111, which connects the Pedemontana del Grappa to Montebelluna, an additional bus will be used and Mom staff will be used to verify compliance with the stringent legislation in force. –
