A 34-year-old ends up in handcuffs for mistreatment in the family: officers called late at night by neighbors worried about a violent fight in the couple’s apartment
CAGLIARI. He beats his wife and young son, then reacts with the same violence against the cops and knocks one of them down the stairs with a shove. A 34-year-old from Cagliari ends up in handcuffs, accused at the time of resisting a public official. But the accusation of mistreatment in the family could be added to the complaint.
It was 2 in the morning when a request for help from a woman arrived on line 113 who reported that a violent domestic dispute was taking place at the upstairs apartment. The policemen arrived at the indicated place, hearing the screams, promptly identified the apartment, noting that there was a rather heated quarrel between a man and a woman. Once inside, the agents ascertained that the woman needed medical attention and therefore 118 was called. The policemen, restored calm with no little effort and calmed the minds, after having reassured the woman, were able to reconstruct the each other.
It had happened that the woman, after having spent the day in the company of her husband and younger daughter, went back to her sister’s house to pick up the other son, who, however, did not want to return home. The father, following the whim of the child, began to yell at him, then tugged and slapped him violently. Once back home, the lady to protect her son suffered yet another outburst of her husband who grabbed her by the neck, yanking her hard.
The spouse managed with no little difficulty to escape the violence of her husband, finding the courage to ask the police for help. Upon hearing the story, the agents discovered that this is just the latest episode of an escalation of violence suffered by the woman and her children in recent years. The 34-year-old, regardless of the presence of the police, continued to manifest violent and threatening attitudes, both towards his family and towards the policemen, with whom he had a fight and an agent, after being pushed, he fell from the stairs. Therefore the man was placed in safety and arrested for resisting a public official and taken to the local security chambers awaiting the direct hearing scheduled for this morning. (L.on)
