Caltagirone, pensioner damaged cars: “caught” thanks to videos

by admin

The man was denounced by the carabinieri who identified him after viewing the images of a video surveillance system

Caltagirone (Catania) – Following some complaints filed for the damage suffered by some cars recently near the main entrance of the Villa Vittorio Emanuele II in Caltagirone, agents of the Police Commissioner have started an investigation that has made use of the acquisition and examination of the video surveillance images captured by the system located in the façade of the Church of San Francesco di Paola. The films have immortalized, on two separate occasions, a male person who approached the cars parked in Via Giardino Pubblico and probably damaged them with a key or a pointed tool. Therefore, a stalking service was set up which made it possible to identify and report to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Caltagirone an unsuspected retired pensioner who, faced with the evidence of the facts, admitted his responsibility.

Not being able to exclude that the man could have carried out other damages of the same nature, citizens who in the very recent past have suffered damage in the same way, if they have not already done so, are invited to report it to the police authorities.
