The intervention of the fire brigade in Cansiglio on 8 December

Misadventure for some Treviso tourists who tried to go up to Cansiglio on the afternoon of the Immaculate Conception, despite the heavy snowfall. About thirty cars were stuck in the storm: the firefighters arrived to free the motorists. Heavy inconveniences also on Grappa

VITTORIO VENETO. The forecasts had been bad for days: the snow in Cansiglio for Wednesday 8 December was expected, even abundant. Nevertheless many have ventured the same way towards the famous “plain” north of Vittorio Veneto, climbing above all from the Treviso side and from the plain, with the idea of spending a day on the sled or on skis.

The result? They were stuck in the snow, under a storm that reduced visibility and stability, and which has no intention of subsiding. About thirty cars remained blocked, some with children inside.

The intervention of the fire brigade in Cansiglio on 8 December

Wednesday afternoon, therefore, the firefighters had to intervene, starting at 14.50, to help and free many citizens who were trapped in the white blanket. Not an easy job given the conditions of the road surface, where the snow is continuing to accumulate. Very heavy inconveniences for the entire road system of the area, and given the forecasts today, any trip to the Cansiglio and the mountains of the Treviso Pre-Alps is not recommended.

Similar interventions were reported by the fire brigade also on provincial 140 leading to Montegrappa, and in Cavaso del Tomba in via Monfenera: cars blocked by snow with children on board. Volunteers from Asolo and the teams from Montebelluna took part.
