CAPACCIO PAESTUM – Verification of the tax position of companies operating in the territory of Capaccio Paestum. Another measure put in place by the Tax Office of the Municipality of Capaccese to find the crafty people who do not pay taxes regularly. The office has asked InfoCamere Scpa, the IT company of the Italian Chambers of Commerce, for the updated list of companies that have at least one location (registered office or local unit) in the municipal area. This list, now acquired, consists of 4,189 companies and includes information relating to each. The acquired data contain all useful information or tax code, VAT number, location, Ateco code, email and more.
The comparison. With these references, the office, headed by the official Antonio Rinaldi, will be able to initiate the procedures for crossing the databases and comparing them with the tax position of each. This is in order to verify that all are up to date with the payment of Imu, Tari and everything related to the specific activity carried out. The objective of the Alfieri administration is quite clear. It is the fight against tax evasion. The action taken by the municipal office is part of the wider activity of contrasting tax evasion and avoidance that has led the Authority of the city of temples to already flush out thousands of illegal situations on various issues.
Active residues. The goal is to be able to get as much money back into the municipal coffers as possible compared to the 26 million active residues found. Credits that the Entity boasts with respect to bad payers, represented by citizens and businesses, who for the most diverse reasons have not paid the amount due.
The prescription. And we must hurry to find the crafty ones, as once five years have elapsed from the non-payment, everything will end up in prescription without the possibility of doing anything if in the meantime a specific confirmation of the deficiencies has not been notified. A further step, that of the acquired data, which could lead to grasping new areas of offense where to go to recover unrecognized taxes.
The taxes recovered. To date, the Municipality has managed to recover about 10 million euros on the residual assets accumulated over the years, starting from 2014-2015. In addition to private citizens, even the accommodation facilities are attentive. They represent those who pay the most important figures: considering the greater volumes, the shares of Imu and Tari, in particular, to be paid every year are even four or five zeros for some.
The accommodation activities. And from the screenings carried out so far, 18 hotel businesses and 43 companies that own or manage accommodation facilities operating in the municipal area are indebted to the institution for approximately 3.4 million euros. All risk closure. If their debt status remains within two months of notification, the One-Stop Shop for Productive Activities (SUAP) will start the suspension of the authorizations. The battle undertaken by the municipality of Capaccio risks fomenting political controversies in the coming days about the economic difficulties that almost all companies have encountered in these two years due to Covid.
