Carnival, the curtain falls on Chinese New Year in Venice – News

The celebrations of the Magic of the Chinese New Year that animated the Venice Carnival 2024 will end on February 13th, with dances, parades on the water and workshops that have opened up to the general public for the first time the tradition that lies behind the millenary culture of ‘Orient. All the events, which took place in the most representative places of Venice and Mestre, were proposed and organized by a very young association founded two years ago in the Venetian capital, the Italy China Culture and Tourism Promotion Association, founded two years ago by two very young boys, born in China but raised in Venice: the president Max Ronglin Liu, born in ’98, and the secretary and treasurer Ludovico Xiaoliang Huang, born in ’96.

“Thanks to Vela, the Municipality of Venice and the theme of Carnival 2024, which celebrated the East and Marco Polo, all the initiatives we proposed were warmly welcomed and we tried to implement them as best we could”, said Liu Ronglin, adding that “there are many labels on the Chinese, such as the fact that they emigrated only to work and make money and family abroad, but for our generation who grew up here it is different: we want a much deeper integration with the culture and the Italian people”.

The association, which aims to debut new initiatives linked to the country of the Rising Sun in Venice during the year, brought the athletes of the Italy lion and dragon dance to the 2024 Carnival, who animated dragons and lions.
