Castrofilippo, grinder cuts the arm of a family member during a quarrel

PALERMO – A quarrel between family members in Castrofilippo (AG) culminated in blood with a person seriously injured in the arm that was almost cut with a 48 cm long knife. The quarrel broke out between Saturday and last Sunday between some walking nomads.

GR, 56, and PR, 32, faced each other in the street, a few meters from their respective homes and then intervened in defense of the second GG, 43 years old. The 56-year-old then went home where he took an air rifle and knife. He fired a few shots at the other two and then rushed at GG, wounding him in the face with a knife and severing the tendons in his left arm.

The carabinieri recovered their weapons and arrested the wounded man who is known as a knife grinder in the community of walking nomads.

The doctors of the Canicattì hospital gave PR a prognosis of 15 days, while for GG they reserved the prognosis, arranging his transfer to the Civic hospital of Palermo where, with a delicate surgery, they will try to restore the functionality of the arm. GR is accused of attempted multiple murder.
