Catania, Giuseppe Biffarella is the new provincial fire brigade commander

Eng. Giuseppe Biffarella, 63, originally from Mistretta in the Messina area, is the new provincial commander of the Catania Fire Brigade. It happens to Eng. Giuseppe Verme, placed at rest for having reached age limits. After graduating in civil engineering, began his career as a technical officer in the National Fire Brigade in March 1988. He was assigned to the Provincial Fire Brigade Command of Turin, where he remained for three years, then he was in Catania for four years before. to return to Messina to stay there until 2011.

In the same year he was appointed First Manager and took over the ownership of the Provincial Command of the Fire Brigade of Sondrio until 2018 and immediately after that of Lecco until 2019, to then be promoted to Senior Manager and return again to Messina, of Provincial Commander. During his long career, in which he participated in countless, complex and demanding rescue activities, he received the Cross of Seniority and Certificates of Public Merit from the National Department of Civil Protection and commendations and praise from the Fire Department of the Public Rescue and Civil Defense, in particular, for the flood events that affected the province of Messina in October 2009.
