Catania, three Avolesi pinched to rob supermarkets: arrested

The Carabinieri of the Operational Unit of the Compagnia di Piazza Dante arrested three people from Avola (SR) aged 39, 40 and 47 years, including a woman, as they were held responsible for the complicity in aggravated theft and receiving stolen goods.

Thanks to the fruitful collaboration between the security officers, on duty in the various shopping centers and supermarkets of Catania and the province, the soldiers were able to intervene promptly in the parking lot of the Conad supermarket in via Gelso Bianco, while the three loaded the goods that had just been raided into the car. inside the store, consisting of numerous bottles of spirits and hygiene products worth around 300 euros.

The carabinieri, searching the vehicle used by the trio, also found and seized other goods subject to previous thefts for a value of about 200 euros.

The goods stolen from Conad were returned to the director of the commercial operation, while investigations are underway to establish which other supermarkets have been “visited” by the three Avolese.
