Charges to former mayor of Sabaneta, for alleged excess of functions

The Office of the Attorney General of the Nation issued a statement of charges against the former mayor of Sabaneta, Antioquia, Iván Alonso Montoya Urrego (2016-2019) and the former head of the Legal Advisory Office, Héctor Dario Yepes, for alleged irregularities in the disposition of the rights he had the municipality in the “Tulio Ospina” property, which was ceded by the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) to the different municipalities of the Aburrá Valley.

The control entity investigates the signing of an administrative act, in May 2017, in which, with the approval of the head of the Legal Advisory Office, the then mayor of Sabaneta stated that the municipality “(…) has no interest in receiving the rights derived from the condition that obliges the Department of Antioquia to deliver the percentage received by the entity through Public Deed 2003 of August 2, 1973”; decision that, apparently, he made without the knowledge or authorization of the municipal council.

The entity verifies the possible excess of functions of the municipal administrator and also, an alleged breach of his duties by Yepes.

Due to the above, the control entity provisionally described the lack of servers as serious, by way of very serious fault.
