The EU sanctions against China, accused of violating the human rights of minorities in Xinjiang, have provoked the reaction of the Chinese and a surge of nationalism fomented by Beijing’s propaganda. As often happens, it is the European companies that do business in China that pay the price. A few days ago Zichen Wang, a Chinese journalist from Xinhua very attentive to European issues, wrote on Twitter that judging by the situation, American and European companies “which rely on the Chinese mass market and do not have competent public relations offices, which understand the dynamics of both contexts, they are going blindly ”. The Chinese market is in fact one of the most influenced by international political issues, and the economic boycott is one of the first and immediate responses that Beijing usually launches against the country with which there is friction.
