It has been revealed that AliExpress, an e-commerce company owned by China’s Alibaba Group, has begun selling fresh foods in addition to processed foods.

According to the distribution industry and Yonhap News on the 4th, AliExpress recently began selling fruits and vegetables in an open market through ‘K-Venue’, a store dedicated to domestic brand products. This method means that the seller on the platform takes charge of all product information input and delivery.

Previously, AliExpress announced the expansion of related personnel and fields by recruiting a domestic fresh food product planner (MD) with more than 8 years of experience in fields such as online groceries.

According to Ali, the number of fresh food items is expected to increase in the future. Products sold by K-Venue are shipped free of charge in Korea, and the delivery period is usually within three days.

Currently, LG Household & Health Care, Amore Pacific, and Coca-Cola Beverage are participating in the fields of daily consumer goods, furniture, and processed foods. Dongwon F&B, the manufacturer of Dongwon tuna, will open a store in the first quarter of this year, and Daesang, Samyang Foods, and Pulmuone are also said to be considering whether to open a store.
