Not only Shanghai has strictly closed the epidemic areas, but recently there have been Jiangsu, Henan, Anhui and other provinces. Many urban areas in the city have announced “static management”, and the closure and control measures are like closing the city in disguise.
Shanghai announced that it will enter “global static management” from April 5, and announced on the 11th that the epidemic prevention area is divided into three areas: the closed control area, the control area, and the prevention area. The first batch of closed and controlled areas reached 7,624, but the closed and controlled areas and measures are still changing.
From April 16 to early April, Fengxian District in Shanghai will adopt measures such as “global static management, nucleic acid testing of all employees, and comprehensive flow investigation and investigation”.

Jiangsu: Suzhou City, Zhangjiagang City, Kunshan City, Taicang City
In Jiangsu Province, which is close to Shanghai, the “eye of the storm” of the epidemic, many cities have comprehensively upgraded epidemic control. From 0:00 on April 16, Suzhou City has required non-essential non-essential movement in many districts, comprehensively strengthened social control, and cancelled various public gathering activities and dine-in meals. Residential quarters, industrial parks, etc. all implement closed management, adopt “one door and one post”, and strictly check the entry and exit personnel.
Zhangjiagang City announced that from 5:00 on April 13th to 24:00 on April 19th, residents of the city will stop all non-essential movement except for nucleic acid testing. Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province announced an extension of the silent period for 7 days, from 24:00 on April 12 to 24:00 on the 19th, and the city will implement static management. The closed and controlled areas will continue to strictly implement relevant measures for epidemic prevention and control.
Suzhou Taicang City announced that from 6:00 on April 11 to 12:00 on the 17th, static management will be implemented simultaneously in the city area east of Shenhai Expressway G15. During the static management period, citizens stop all non-essential flows. Each community (village) “does not stay in the community (village), do not go out unless it is necessary, and is strictly prohibited from gathering.” All enterprises in the city will be closed, and those that really need to be produced must be approved and closed-loop management will be implemented.
Zhengzhou, capital of Henan Province
Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, announced on April 15 that it will implement classified management of parts of the Zhengzhou Airport Area. In addition, a 14-day (tentative) traffic control will be implemented in the airport area. During the traffic control period, the airport area “can only enter but not enter”.
The closure of the Zhengzhou airport area, home to the world‘s largest iPhone assembly plant, has raised concerns about disruptions to Apple’s supply chain.
Anhui: Wuhu City, Huoqiu County
On April 17, Wuhu City, Anhui Province announced that from 4:00 a.m. on the 17th, it will temporarily implement static management of the main urban area of Wuhu City; and immediately carry out nucleic acid testing for all employees in the area.
On the 16th, Huoqiu County, Lu’an City, Anhui Province announced that from 22:00 on the 16th, the county will implement static management.
Xining, the capital of Qinghai Province
On April 14, Xining City, the capital of Qinghai Province, issued a notice, deciding to implement static management in Chengzhong District, Chengxi District and Chengbei District from 21:30 on the 14th to 24:00 on the 17th.
Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi Province
From 0:00 on the 16th, Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi Province, implemented “temporary social control measures” for four days.
After the outbreak of a large-scale epidemic at the end of last year, Xi’an has been closed for more than a month since December 23 last year. However, local officials said that this temporary social control is not a “city closure”. However, in terms of specific measures, it is not much different from the closure of the city.
The specific measures of Xi’an’s “social management and control” include that the city’s community and unit personnel are required not to go out unless necessary; each community implements “one door in and out” and arranges personnel to be on duty 24 hours a day. Large shopping malls, public entertainment venues, rural bazaars, etc. are all temporarily closed, and dining venues are temporarily suspended.
