[The Epoch Times, January 21, 2022](Reported by Yi Fan and Zhang Zhongyuan, reporters from The Epoch Times Special Department) China’s video sharing website Station B had two personal privacy leaks within three days. The live broadcast, and the other is the upload of the video in a public place after it was suspected to be cracked. The incident sparked outrage on social media Weibo.

A Chinese netizen recently broke the news that he accidentally entered a live broadcast room of station B on the afternoon of January 15. From the content of the conversation, he learned that a male doctor was broadcasting a female patient’s gynecological surgery. During the live broadcast, the patient asked a female doctor present whether the male doctor at the scene was the doctor who performed the operation for her, and the female doctor replied that the person was an anesthesiologist.

It is reported that the male anesthesiologist broadcast gynecological surgery without the patient’s knowledge, and secretly photographed the female patient’s private parts many times. The male anesthesiologist’s colleague, the doctor, did not stop the candid filming. The live broadcast was cut off after the netizen reported it to the human customer service at station B.

The whistleblower believes that there are two possibilities for the male doctor’s candid photography method. One is to hold a mobile phone and pretend to chat while secretly filming, so as not to let the patient find out, and the other is to carry a miniature candid camera device on his body.

Three days later, on the evening of the 18th, the customer service staff of Station B responded to the public: After an internal inspection, the live broadcast room had been warned and cut off many times during the live broadcast on January 15, and was subsequently permanently banned. The website has been reported to the police.

Also on the evening of the 18th, the police in Rizhao City, Shandong Province notified: At 16:00 on January 18th, a doctor suspected that a gynecological surgery clip was broadcast live on the Internet. Li was captured. A case has been filed and the case is under further investigation.

The hospital where Dr. Li works is Rizhao Central Hospital.

In addition, there was a public privacy leak incident on January 17. Some netizens broke the news on the same day that some users suspected that they had cracked the video heads in public places, and then uploaded the obtained surveillance videos on station B.

The netizen said that he saw an account on station B that was suspected of cracking and uploading surveillance videos in schools, hospitals and other places, and the comments were very unbearable. “This black industry (black industry chain) may have already formed, and they are most likely to make this kind of account to attract people into that kind of paid group, and not only the public video camera may be cracked and leaked, but also the home video camera will also be leaked. There is a risk of being cracked…”

In response to this matter, Station B also issued a handling announcement on the 17th, saying: “We organized the investigation immediately and removed the relevant content. At the same time, the account that uploaded the relevant content was banned, and the account information was reported to the competent authority. The follow-up investigation is in progress.” Station B also said that such acts are suspected of serious violation of personal privacy and are illegal. Once discovered, it will be dealt with severely in accordance with the law. If users find such content, please contact online customer service immediately.

Station B is the abbreviation of Bilibili website, the full name is Bilibili Danmu. It is a video sharing website, similar to Youtube in China.

Within three days, several public privacy leaks occurred in a row. In particular, the female patient’s gynecological surgery was broadcast live, arousing the anger of netizens. As of press time, the incident has been viewed nearly 7 million times on Weibo on social media, and many commenters have been cursing. Some people scold the doctor who filmed secretly, and some people question station B. Why can such videos pass the review? Don’t you have any moral conscience for traffic?

Qu Qingxue (pseudonym), a surgeon at a hospital in Shandong Province, told The Epoch Times that it is the doctor’s responsibility to protect the privacy of patients. This kind of live broadcast of the operation completely disrespects the patient, violates the patient’s privacy, and damages the patient’s reputation. This is an obvious criminal act. He went on to say that the reason why this kind of chaos can happen is not only that the doctors involved have no morals, but colleagues acquiesce and that the website can still be broadcasted, which shows that people have no principles of life in their hearts, and there is no legal constraint in society.

The CCP’s management department’s penalties for secret photography are actually very light. According to Article 42 of the CCP’s Public Security Administration Punishment Law, anyone who peeps, secretly takes pictures, eavesdrops, or disseminates the privacy of others shall be detained for not more than 5 days or fined not more than 500 yuan (US$78); if the circumstances are more serious, the punishment shall be not less than 5 days but not more than 10 days Detention may be imposed concurrently with a fine of not more than 500 yuan.

Li Yiming, a Japanese media person, previously told The Epoch Times that the nature of the CCP regime determines that the CCP police are not interested in cracking down on candid photography. He said, “The main job of the CCP police is to maintain the stability of the CCP regime. Ordinary people are the targets of police surveillance and crackdowns. How can they provide good services to those under their control?”
