The driver was not run over by only a few centimeters
CHIVASSO – The Fiat Iveco articulated lorry driver was not seriously injured and overturned at 12 noon on Monday 28, during unloading operations at the Movicentro, in front of the platforms of the Chivasso railway station. The man, who was maneuvering next to the vehicle, was luckily only touched by the body. A few inches and it would have been a tragedy. Rescued by the doctors of the “tango” of the Chivasso Red Cross, the driver was medicated and then taken to the emergency room of the Chivasso hospital to be subjected to the necessary examinations. Instead, it will be up to the inspectors of the Spresal to clarify the dynamics of the accident: for the moment it is known that the articulated lorry got unbalanced, while the unloading operations of some mini excavators were in progress, then folded on its side and ended up in a small moat in a land owned by Rfi. The carabinieri of Chivasso, the railway police, the firefighters of Torino Stura also intervened at the scene of the accident, who will then have to ensure the safety of the truck. On the spot, initially fearing a serious accident, the 118 medical team also arrived. The 43-year-old driver is an employee of the Eredi Mercuri company in Naples that is working for RFI.
