Taliban take away weapons and vehicles in escort, the two in the same house

(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 26 – The Taliban have removed weapons and means from the escort of former President Hamid Karzai and Abdullah Abdullah, head of the High Council for National Reconciliation: CNN reports, citing its sources, for which the two are in fact under house arrest. On Monday, Karzai’s safety device was removed and he moved to Abdullah’s residence; but yesterday the same fate befell the senior official. The Taliban had told CNN itself that an inclusive government was their goal and to this end they had begun to dialogue with Karzai and Abdullah.
