«The fact that so many people have already come to vote reflects the attachment to the territory and its values», says the tourism commissioner Simone Deola, «which have grown stronger during the pandemic: unity, cohesion and associations. And I would also add volunteering. Each in its own small way is demonstrating that all together we can build a municipality that retains these characteristics for years to come. We have rediscovered unity and cohesion along the way. Associations and volunteering existed even before, but they have done nothing but grow thanks to the collaboration between citizens. What gives us comfort, as regards the new coat of arms “, Deola continues,” is that there were many proposals, no less than 54: the sign that the population of the former Municipalities of Lentiai, Mel and Trichiana is close to dynamics and life of your community. However, for reasons related to the precise procedures established by the tender, the commission had to carry out a selection, which ultimately led to a screening, leaving only three final proposals, which will compete for the title “.

One of the three will in fact become the new symbol of Borgo Valbelluna.

«The turnout was good in the first weekend», Deola emphasizes, «so we hope that the interest of citizens in their community can continue even in the next ones. I cannot express myself publicly on the three proposals remaining in the race, because clearly all three express different concepts: in any case, these are captivating ideas, because each expresses different strengths from the others, so citizens will be the ones to choose which will be the better to feel represented ».

To vote, adult citizens residing in the Municipality will be able to go to the respective municipalities of Mel, Trichiana and Lentiai, with an identity document, on Saturday 14 May (in the hours 9-12 and 15-19) and Sunday 15 May ( 9-12). Until Wednesday 25 May, it will also be possible to vote during the week (Monday-Friday) in the town hall of Mel (9-12) without an appointment. At the end of the voting and the entire technical bureaucratic path, the envelopes will be opened with the names of the authors of the three finalist projects: the first classified will receive a cash sum of 1200 euros, the second 800 euros, the third 500 EUR.
