At Christmas the acrobatic thieves went up on the roofs and someone found the alarm siren “silenced” in a bucket of water

CODOGNE ‘. Thefts even on Christmas day: Codognè experienced the nightmare of thieves at home on December 25th. A gang of professionals, thieves acrobats who also ripped up the alarm systems by climbing on the roofs, struck in the late afternoon on Saturday. A Codognese came face to face with one of the criminals, who were robbing the neighbor’s house, in via Pastore in Codognè.

“I was here at work at the Oasi, when the intrusion alert on my cell phone arrived”, says Damiano Gava, manager with his wife Alice Mariotto of the Oasi Campagnola restaurant in Mareno. It was 6:13 pm on Christmas day. «I phoned my neighbor to go and check – says the restaurateur -, the thieves were still inside, he saw what he was doing. So they fled ». The criminals, at least in three (but the gang could also be composed of other elements) carried out raids between via Pastore, via Petrarca and via Arneroni. In the restaurateur’s house they climbed to the top through the eaves, to disconnect the alarm siren, putting it in a bucket full of water to deactivate it. Surprised, they had to interrupt their “work” halfway by rummaging through the rooms. In the nearby countryside, in via Arneroni, they targeted a house that had already been burgled last summer. The owners had gone out for a walk with their dogs in the afternoon.

“Unfortunately these thefts continue, clearly there is concern – explains the councilor of Codognè Viva, Diego Polese -. They hit some streets, then move to another area. And unfortunately they hit on Christmas day ». Codognè appears to be one of the favorite areas of home thieves. The suspicion of the mayor Lisa Tommasella is that they have basisti or are hiding among seasonal workers. Investigations by the police continue, as well as monitoring to prevent assaults on homes
