Neiva registers an increase in dengue cases, with a total of 959 cases until epidemiological week number 4.

In an action to address the increase in dengue cases in the city, municipal authorities, through the Ministry of Health, have carried out a series of intervention days in the town of Guacirco, rural area of ​​Neiva.

The initiative, which took place on February 8, 2024, included various activities focused on the prevention and control of dengue. Among them, the elimination of mosquito breeding sites, the delivery of tents impregnated with residual insecticide, the fumigation of critical areas and canine and feline vaccination against rabies stand out.

The Secretary of Health, Lilibeth Galván, explained that this day was essential to establish a epidemiological fence in the area and thus control the proliferation of the dengue vector. In addition, intense awareness-raising work was carried out with the community, informing them about the warning signs of dengue and the importance of preventive measures.

According to the latest epidemiological report, Neiva registers an increase in dengue cases, with a total of 959 cases until epidemiological week number 4. The most affected communes are 2, 6, 8, 9 and 10, where the largest number of cases are concentrated.

Likewise, the municipal Health authorities called on citizens to maintain hygiene practices at home and to actively collaborate in preventive actions promoted by local authorities.
