Conegliano, struck down by an illness after the tennis match

44-year-old Coneglianese found on the ground in his home garage, he came home last night after a training session. Matteo Chini was inspector of Inail

CONEGLIANO. He collapsed to the ground after returning home at the end of a tennis match: Matteo Chini, resident in Via Lazzarin, would have turned 45 today. Instead he collapsed in the entrance hall of the home garage. He was killed by an illness that caught him immediately after returning from a tennis match. The tragedy took place on the morning of Saturday 5 March 2022 at around 10.30.

Matteo Chini’s body was found on the ground in the entrance hall of the garage by a neighbor who immediately gave the alarm. On the spot, the Suem 118 operators could not help but ascertain the death of the man.

Chini had graduated in Mechanical Engineering in Trieste and was working as an Inail inspector. He was well known throughout the Coneglianese area, where he had been carrying out his inspection activity for years.

On Friday evening, the 44-year-old went to Villorba to play tennis, a sport he was very passionate about along with cycling. When he returned home, the illness would hit him in the night, as soon as he got out of the car, and he wouldn’t let him escape. The discovery, however, would have taken place only in the morning.

It will be the eventual autopsy to clarify the origin of the illness, probably of a cardiac nature. A police patrol also went to the scene to clarify the exact circumstances of the tragedy.
