CONEGLIANO. It will be a sober ceremony, a greeting from friends and relatives, the one that on Tuesday 23 will bid farewell to Vittorio Verongalli, 80, and his son Stéphane, 51, who drowned on 8 November in the sinking of their pleasure boat offshore by Sistiana.

Research after the shipwreck in the Gulf of Trieste

The body of Vittorio Verongalli, originally from Tarzo and resident in Conegliano, had been recovered the same day in the shipwreck, thanks to the efforts of the Coast Guard, the Financial Police and the Fire Brigade, also at work with the underwater nucleus. A few days later, extinguishing the last hopes, the body of Stéphane was also recovered, trapped in the sunken boat. Stéphane was an employee of the Banca della Marca, Orsago office.

After the farewell ceremony, there will be a strictly private burial in the cemetery of San Giuseppe in Conegliano.
