CONEGLIANO. The thieves break into the historic Venetian villa, hoping for the big booty. A flurry of thefts occurred on Wednesday evening between Codognè and Scomigo di Conegliano.

In action at least two gangs of criminals, who acted at the same time, between dusk and early evening. Villa Porcia Andreetta was also targeted, better known as Villa Rosa in Roverbasso di Codognè, a historic residence dating back to the 18th century, at the time owned by the Andreetta family to whom the Serenissima Republic had granted land cultivated with wheat.

THE RAID

Now it is the seat of the Agrivilla Rosa company of the Padovan family, which continues the agricultural tradition, with fine productions, from saffron to corn, to Prosecco and Pinot vines. “They were at my daughter’s house – says the owner Bruno Padovan – it happened between 19.30 and 21.30, when there was no one at home, they arrived from the fields at the back”.

The bandits went up to the first floor of the Venetian villa, rummaging in the rooms. They hoped for a huge swag, but there were no objects of great value inside. A pair of earrings and a ring are missing. The farmer agrees with the hypothesis of the mayor Lisa Tommasella, who has carried out checks on laborers and foreigners who arrive in the village for the harvest. Someone could represent a basista.

The Arma soldiers were alerted by residents who had noticed individuals in the garden. The thieves, in the dark, disappeared into the fields.

THE RAID IN SCOMIGO
