On the occasion of celebrating the centenary of the Communist Party of China, embarking on a new journey of building a socialist modern country in an all-round way, and marching towards the second centenary goal, we ushered in the 70th anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and the Central Military Commission to the cadres and people of all ethnic groups and people in Tibet, to the officers and soldiers of the People’s Liberation Army stationed in Tibet, the armed police, the public security officers and the fire rescue team, to all participating and supporting Tibet Comrades and friends who are building, caring and helping Tibet’s development and progress, extend my warm congratulations and cordial condolences!
The peaceful liberation of Tibet 70 years ago was an epoch-making turning point in Tibet’s history. It not only completely expelled the imperialist forces, severely hit various separatist forces, vigorously advanced the cause of the Chinese people’s liberation, and resolutely defended national sovereignty and territorial integrity. It has maintained national unity and ethnic unity, and opened a path for the liberation of millions of serfs, opening up a bright future for Tibet’s prosperity and progress. Since then, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Tibetan people have embarked on the broad road of unity, progress and development in the big family of the socialist motherland.
Over the past 70 years, Tibet overthrew the old system, established a new regime, implemented a system of ethnic regional autonomy, fully implemented the party’s ethnic and religious policies, advanced socialist construction and reform and opening up, achieved a historic leap in social systems, and achieved comprehensive economic and social development. With development, people’s lives have been greatly improved, and the urban and rural landscape is not what it used to be. It has achieved a historic transformation from darkness to light, from backwardness to progress, from poverty to prosperity, from autocracy to democracy, and from closed to open. Tibet has made great achievements in development and progress, and has written a vivid chapter of the glorious history and great achievements of the Communist Party of China in the past century!
Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, under the strong leadership of the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, and with the strong support of the people of the whole country, the people of all ethnic groups in Tibet have worked hard and stubbornly to solve many long-standing problems that have not been resolved. Over the past 70 years, the tremendous changes in Tibet have fully proved: Without the Communist Party of China, there would be no new China, and there would be no new Tibet.
