The reporter learned that all delegates attending the Ecological Civilization Forum will jointly launch the initiative of “Jointly Building Global Ecological Civilization and Protecting Global Biodiversity”.
At the opening ceremony yesterday, Zhao Yingmin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China, announced the fifth batch of National Ecological Civilization Construction Demonstration Zones and the “Green Waters and Green Mountains are the Golden Mountains and Silver Mountains” Practice and Innovation Base, and commended relevant representatives.
Among them, the fifth batch of national ecological civilization construction demonstration zones totaled 100, and Shanghai Qingpu District was successfully selected into the list. In addition, 49 regions, including Caojing Town, Jinshan District, Shanghai, were awarded the title of Practice and Innovation Base of “Green Waters and Green Mountains are Golden Mountains and Silver Mountains”.
Zhang Huiyuan, director of the Ecological Civilization Center of the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences, said that this ecological forum will mainly have three expected results.
One isThe landmark achievement of the forum: “Protect Biodiversity and Build a Global Ecological Civilization” initiative. This initiative will be jointly announced by all delegates participating in the forum’s closing ceremony.
The second is the series of results released by the theme forums: including research reports, case collections, etc., such as the theme forum 1 will release the “Declaration of Joint Actions to Address Climate Change and Protect Biodiversity under the Carbon Neutrality Goal”, and the nature-based response to climate change Solution series report; theme forum 4 will release a collection of typical cases of ecological restoration in China, showing China’s efforts and achievements in protecting biodiversity, promoting ecological civilization, and promoting global sustainable development; theme forum 6 will be released Regional research results such as “The Belt and Road Innovation Development Report 2021” and “The Beauty of Life on Earth-The Story of People and Biodiversity in Nature Reserves”.
