But if you then look at the data, “nobody dies if they get vaccinated, and nobody ends up in intensive care if they get vaccinated.” The Minister of Public Administration, Renato Brunetta, to the microphones of Radio24, considers the fears legitimate, but argues that we must finally come to terms with reality rather than stop “at the goat wool issues, at the moment when we are emerging from the crisis and are growing by 6%”. If you live in the community – he reiterates – “you must give the sign that you have not contracted the virus”. Which “is not violence: you get vaccinated for free or you swab yourself spending money, it doesn’t seem like much violence, but the minimum wage”.

The extension of the Green Pass to all public and private workers, says the minister, also on Rai 24, is “freedom, security”. It means: “Being able to go to work, to school, without the anguish of new waves or variations.” In every company, he argues, “all the stamping systems, turnstiles and entrance controls already have the reading device which at the same time also reads the Green Pass”. For those who do not comply with the obligation, penalties are foreseen from 600 to 1500 euros for workers and from 400 to 1000 euros for employers, who are entrusted with the task of carrying out the checks.

On the smart working front in the public administration, “after October 15 we will therefore be back in attendance, gradually,” confirms Brunetta. “First who works at the counters, then who is behind, in the back office, and in parallel the central and peripheral administrations”. The novelty “is that once we have prepared the conditions for true smart working, from January, each administration will be able to organize itself as it sees fit, based on the contract and the individual will of the workers”. Public employment “will return to presence as an ordinary way of working, but in the meantime the rules of agile work are finally being defined in the new contracts, the renewals of which I wanted to unblock”, he explains in an interview with Corriere della Sera. «For the central functions – he adds – the new contract should arrive within a month and the new work organization will be defined within the year. A dedicated and secure IT platform, user satisfaction assessment, precise objectives for the disposal of arrears and also reconciliation of family work with professional work ».
Starting again with the public administration is an urgency that cannot be postponed, implies Brunetta: «There are 60 million Italians who want an electronic identity card, who want a certificate or a document, or who want to know news on layoffs or pensions. They want a central, functional and efficient public administration ». And smart working, “wise decision in an emergency, does not offer all this”.
