347 cases and two deaths in Puglia
Today in Puglia 347 cases out of 14,160 tests for Covid-19 infection have been recorded, with an incidence of 2.45%. The new positives are 90 in the Bat province, 87 in the Lecce area, 54 in the Bari area, 42 in the Brindisi area, 39 in the Foggiano area, 26 in the province of Taranto, 12 residents outside the region; 3 cases of unknown residence were reclassified and attributed. Two deaths were recorded. Since the beginning of the emergency 3,140,186 tests have been carried out and 4,479 cases are currently positive. The total number of Covid positive cases in Puglia is 260,872 and 249,703 patients are cured.
Another 4 deaths and 403 new infections in Sardinia
Another four deaths and 403 new infections from Covid in the last 24 hours in Sardinia based on 3,069 people tested. Overall, between molecular and antigenic, 5,921 swabs were processed. The positivity rate is 6.8 per center. The victims are three men aged 73, 75 and 86 and a woman of 88, all residing in the metropolitan city of Cagliari. The patients admitted to the intensive care units are 19 (-1), while 179 those in the medical area (+4). In total there are 7,425 people in home isolation (+144).
Commissioner: 12.8% of school staff not vaccinated
According to the weekly report on vaccinations released by the extraordinary Commissioner for the Covid emergency, the school staff waiting to carry out the vaccine (that is, without even the first dose) counts 186,571 units, 12.82% of the total. The updated data requested from the Regions by today’s date, however, according to what is learned from qualified sources, will be analyzed and disseminated in the coming days. On the other hand, there are 35,691 unvaccinated health workers, equal to 1.82% of the total.
In Basilicata 45 positives out of 931 swabs analyzed
In the last 24 hours, 931 swabs were examined in Basilicata, 45 of which tested positive: this was announced by the regional task force, specifying that 30 recoveries were also recorded. The bulletin reports an increase of two units (from 37 to 39) in the number of people admitted to hospital, two of which are treated in intensive care. There are 1,195 people in home isolation. From the point of view of vaccinations, 3,609 were carried out yesterday. The Lucanians who received the first dose were 384,615 (69.5 percent), while those who also received the second were 303,174 (54.8 percent).
Iss, a slight increase in cases detected with tracking
The percentage of Covid cases detected through the contact tracing activity “slightly increases”, 33% compared to 32% last week. This is what emerges from the draft of the Iss-Ministry of Health weekly monitoring on the progress of the Covid epidemic in Italy (reference period 9-15 August). While the number of new cases not associated with transmission chains remains “stable”, which amounted to 15,021 against 15,026 in the previous week. The percentage of cases detected through the appearance of symptoms is decreasing (46% against the previous figure of 47%). And finally, 21% of cases were diagnosed through screening activities.
