There are 55.829 new cases of Coronavirus positivity registered in the last 24 hours, 337 fewer than the 56.166 detected yesterday. The figure is based on 238,069 swabs, compared to 248,042 the previous day (both rapid antigenic tests and molecular swabs are considered).
Compared to 7 days ago, when there were 35,427 new cases, the figure recorded today marks an increase of 57.6%.
The victims of today
The daily report, released by the Ministry of Health and Civil Protection at 3:50 pm on Friday 24 June, also counts 51 victims, 24 fewer than the 75 recorded yesterday. Compared to the number of deaths recorded on the same day last week (41), today’s figure is however up by 24.4%.
The rate of positivity
The “positive rate”, that is the ratio between the total number of swabs performed and those that are positive, in the last 24 hours has risen to 23.5%: it was 22.6% 24 hours ago.
Today’s figure is also increasing compared to that recorded 7 days ago, when the positivity rate was 19.1%.
