Covid: protest marches in Germany and clashes in Saxony
Thousands of people in different German cities took to the streets last night to protest against the measures taken in Germany to stem Covid.
The parades, often unannounced, saw a wide participation especially in the east of the country, and in the Saxon town of Bautzen there were also clashes with the police and riots, with 10 officers injured, according to reports released by the forces of the ‘ order.
Up to 15,000 people protested in the cities of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. This is the region that has closed cinemas, theaters and museums since Monday due to the spread of the coronavirus infection. Also in Brandenburg about 9000 anticovids have been demonstrated in different centers.
Demonstrations also took place in the west, in the Saarland, in Hesse and in Lower Saxony, where turnout numbers were much lower.
