IVREA. The Guardia di Finanza of Turin has seized, in recent days, over 25 tons of pellets and reported four people to the judicial authorities for the crime of counterfeiting.
This is the balance of an investigation undertaken following an economic-financial police activity, aimed at combating the offenses perpetrated in the sale of counterfeit products to the detriment of consumers, conducted by the Financiers of the Compagnia di Chivasso and coordinated by the Public Prosecutors of Ivrea and Biella.
In particular, the Fiamme Gialle identified four subjects, including two entrepreneurs, operating in the province of Turin and Biella, who, deceptively, through the “Marketplace” platform of a well-known social network, advertised and marketed the pellets, suggesting that it was produced by a well-known international company, leader in the specific product sector, on which the relative trademark was affixed.
The investigations by the financiers also made it possible to ascertain how the protected product carried a falsified quality mark: in essence, the military, following searches delegated by the judicial authority, acquired copious documentation from the examination of which it was possible to verify that in reality, the pellets came from Poland already packaged and bore the false indication of “Austrian quality”.
In this way, it immediately became clear that the intent was to induce unsuspecting consumers to believe that, since it is one of the best known and most valuable products, since it is characterized by a high calorific value, it was correct to buy it at the requested market price. .
The service carried out confirms the constant commitment of the Guardia di Finanza in combating all forms of counterfeiting, even in a production sector, such as that of heating fuels, which is constantly growing and, therefore, deserves the utmost attention, in order to avoid possible offenses. that compromise the regular market trend.
