Seven years of imprisonment, revoked license and provisional for a total of 175 thousand euros to the families of the victims, with compensation for the damage to be quantified in civil proceedings: this is the sentence handed down yesterday by the gup Monica Biasutti against Dimitre Traykov, 61, l entrepreneur of Bulgarian origin who collided and killed his two cousins ​​Sara Rizzotto, 26, from Conegliano, and Jessica Fragasso, 20, from Mareno di Piave on the A28. Prosecutor Raffaele Tito had asked for a sentence of 7 years and 8 months.

In tears, outside the classroom, Jessica’s mother Barbara Rizzotto murmured: “Three and a half years for a lifetime. .. “. Her grandmother Loredana Armellin couldn’t stop crying too: «she left two little girls, it’s not fair …».

The accused was sentenced to 6 years for the multiple road murder and injuries suffered by Sara’s children and Jessica’s parents and to 1 year in prison for failing to rescue and fleeing after the accident.

The judge ordered immediately executive provisional payments of 35 thousand euros each to Jessica’s parents, protected by the lawyer Enrico D’Orazio, and to Sara’s father, assisted by the lawyer Alessandra Nava; 25 thousand euros for grandparents; 20 thousand euros for Sara’s uncle (all three assisted by Nava).

No compensation was granted to Sara’s mother as the judge did not consider that the family bond had been lasting. The gup did not recognize the aggravating circumstance of driving under the influence of alcohol. Reasons in 15 days.

Traykov was subjected to the alcohol test for the first time at 22.29, about 3 hours after the accident, which took place at 19.40 in the A28 in Azzano Decimo. At 00.28 he was collected from the hospital. The entrepreneur was tracked down by the mobile team and from the polstrada to his home in Pordenone at 21.50.

The technical advice entrusted by prosecutor Federico Facchin to engineer Pierluigi Zamuner ascertained that Traykov was traveling at 180 kilometers per hour behind the wheel of a freelander Land Rover when he hit the Fiat Panda in which Sara’s cousins ​​and girls were traveling.

The impact was so violent that it threw the Panda 125 meters away, while the Land Rover overturned, hit the car of Jessica’s parents, Alain Fragasso and Barbara Rizzotto, and stopped sideways 225 meters later. .

«The sentence leaves us quite satisfied – declared the lawyer Gianni Massanzana, who assists Traykov with his colleague Loris Padalino -.
