by admin

Boom in infections, but lower numbers of deaths and hospitalizations, both ordinary and in intensive care: this is the picture that emerges if we compare yesterday’s data from the Ministry of Health‘s bulletin on the progress of the pandemic and those contained in the same report published exactly one year ago, on 8 January 2021. If on Saturday 8 January 2022 the new cases were in fact 197,552 and the swabs carried out 1,220,266, with a positivity rate of 16.2%, on 8 January last year the bulletin spoke of 17,533 new cases, with 140,267 swabs carried out and a positivity index of 12.5%.
