Peaceful but very suggestive protest of VAT numbers, restaurateurs, entrepreneurs, owners of gyms and bars

A choreographic protest, but clearly felt by the whole city, but above all by those who have been suffering for a year from the limitations of the pandemic that have definitively brought commercial activities to their knees. In the heart of the Catania nightlife, between via Gemmellaro and via Santa Filomena, the “Ghosts of the Past” event took place which, as you can read from the banners, protested against the stringent measures and limitations imposed by the current pandemic situation, demanding a return to life .

“After more than a year we are made fun of by incompetent institutions that have done nothing but catapult us into a science fiction representation of reality – reads a note – depriving us of our individual freedoms, forcing us to a new normality made up of smart working, delivery, online shopping, social networks and one-way information “.

To protest the representatives of a movement made up of operators with VAT numbers, restaurateurs, entrepreneurs, managers and owners of gyms, bars and all those categories that the government defines as “non-essential”.

The event took place in a symbolic place of meeting, socialization, entertainment such as the one enclosed between via Santa Filomena and via Gemmellaro, a few steps from via Etnea.

The organizers, without flags, acronyms and memberships, have pointed out that this is only the first act, which will be followed by other protest actions until a complete return to normality.
