ROMA – They lined up in the military city of Cecchignola in Rome and waited their turn then – as expected – the extraordinary Commissioner for the Covid emergency, Francesco Figliuolo and the Head of Civil Protection, Fabrizio Curcio, were vaccinated with a first dose AstraZeneca.
Immediately afterwards, Figliuolo explained that “the doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will arrive in Italy in the second half of April and in that period the goal set is the administration of 500 thousand doses per day”. While the general added, the aim is to “vaccinate 80% of the population by the end of September”.

Meanwhile, the dispatch of AstraZeneca doses to Italy postponed this week will be recovered next Wednesday. The arrival of 134 thousand doses of the Oxford vaccine scheduled last Thursday had been canceled for logistical reasons due to the precautionary suspension of the serum administration arranged in recent days. With the restart of the administration of the – it is specified by the Commissarial structure of Francesco Figliuolo – the load will be recovered on Thursday 24 and will be added to the other 145 thousand doses still scheduled for that day: a total of 279 thousand doses will be delivered.
